BRADFORD Teaching Hospitals has announced Paul Kitching as the new public governor for the Keighley constituency on the Foundation Trust’s Council of Governors.

The Council of Governors meets formally four times a year and governors make sure the views of the local community, patients, staff and associated partners are heard when decisions are made about the city’s hospitals.

Mr Kitching (pictured) lives in Ilkley where he is also a parish councillor. , said: “As governor for the Keighley constituency which covers the large geographical areas of Keighley, Ilkley and Worth Valley, I aim to represent the people of the district and help put something back into my community.”

Meanwhile former NHS nurse and midwife Hilary Ann Meeghan has been elected governor of Bradford South constituency.

The council of governors is made up of staff, appointed governors from partner organisations and 12 elected members from our public and patient constituencies.

The next meeting takes place on Wednesday, December 10 from 4.30-6.30pm, in the Conference Room, Field House, Bradford Royal Infirmary.
