WE all know the Grand Depart is heading to the region this weekend, but a taste of France has arrived early as a Wharfedale village has unveiled its very own Eiffel Tower.
Burley-in-Wharfedale residents Charles and Fiona Prest knew they had to do something to mark race passing their front door and with the help of local scouts and guides, they built a 7.5-metre high model of the iconic structure in their garden.
The Burley Eiffel Tower was formally opened last night by local rider Scott Thwaites, part of the NetApp Endura team.
Mr Thwaites raised a flag over the local tower, which will dominate Burley Main Street this week and next.
