Jewellery given to Princess Charlotte’s Lady of the Bedchamber by her father, the Prince Regent, will go under the hammer at a fundraising auction.
The necklace and pendant, a pair of earrings, two bracelets and five brooches are expected to fetch a five-figure sum when they are auctioned at The Community of the Resurrection in Mirfield on November 10.
Father John Gribben, who is involved in organising the auction, said they were given to Miss Charlotte Cotes, the Princess’s Lady of the Bedchamber, for her to wear at the Princess’s wedding to Prince Leopold.
Since then the jewels, which are accompanied by a signed letter from the Prince Regent, were passed down through Miss Cotes’ family.
Proceeds from the auction will go towards the £1.5 million appeal to pay for the restoration of the Community’s church.
