Daisy Watkiss – thought to be the youngest radio presenter in the UK – is poised to have a national audience.
The nine-year-old Kildwick School pupil, who fronts Crazy Daisy’s Lazy Saturday slot on Cowling-based Drystone Radio, has been filmed by Blue Peter.
The feature is due to be broadcast next month and is also expected to show her two schoolfriends, Alice Mitchell and Jasmine Hibbert, reading out questions addressed to Daisy that have been posted on the Blue Peter “Being Me” message board.
Daisy began her media career last year when she accompanied her dad, Dave – also a Drystone Radio DJ – while he broadcast his Saturday Sport Preview show.
Soon, she was taking an active part in his programme before being given her own one-hour radio show.
