A free seminar was held at the Yorkshire Eye Hospital in Apperley Bridge to mark National Eye Week.

The evening was for those interested in learning more about laser eye treatment and alternatives led by the hospital’s surgeon, Shafiq Rehman. Optician Charlotte Hazel was also on hand to chat about the different procedures available.

Katie Phelps, of Thackley, who attended with her mum, Linda, said: “I have worn glasses for four years and now have to wear them all of the time, which I dislike.

“Whether you’re consider-ing state-of-the-art laser eye surgery or cutting-edge lens implants, you need the peace of mind that you will be treated by experts.”

National Eye Week focuses on the importance of regular eye tests, healthy eyes and the benefits of good vision.
