Steeton Cricket Club is bowled over with its latest grant.
It has received £27,540 from WREN to help pay for the replacement of the clubhouse roof.
The club’s vice-chairman, Jonathan Best, said: “Currently, water leaks into the clubhouse and it is affecting not only us, but the community groups that use the building.”
He said the roof work was part of a wider scheme of improvements at the club, which has seen membership grow in recent years.
“We have outgrown the current building and are hoping for funding from Sport England towards the cost of extending our changing provision,” said Mr Best.
WREN is a not-for-profit business which awards grants from cash donated by the Waste Recycling Group to the Landfill Communities Fund.
