South Craven charities and community groups could get cash aid for recycling projects.
Grants of up to £5,000 are being offered for schemes that help prevent reusable goods ending up in landfill.
Initiatives supported so far have included collecting and reusing furniture, workshops teaching how to create items from used materials and “give and take” days when people swap goods.
Applicants to the York and North Yorkshire Waste Partnership Community Reuse Fund are expected to raise at least 25 per cent match-funding towards project costs.
To coincide with the launch of the fund, the partnership has produced a guide for community groups.
The deadline for grant applications is October 31.
