A woman who is raising money for children with disabilities is to get a soaking for the cause.

Josephine Teale, of Sutton, is inviting people to hurl wet sponges at her at the Old White Bear pub, in Cross Hills.

Cononley resident Steve Ingham will be pelted alongside her at next Saturday’s 2pm event. Proceeds will go to the Children Today charity.

Josephine said: “I chose them because they are a small charity and often get overlooked. Their needs are just as important as those of bigger charities.”

She has pledged to raise £3,000 for the charity by July 11. As part of her fundraising, she will carry out a ten-day trek along the Great Wall of China in October.
