Slimmers in Cross Hills, near Keighley, have been counting the pennies while losing the pounds – and helping babies into the bargain.
Members of the Slimming World class have been collecting 5p coins in aid of Airedale Hospital’s special care baby unit. About 40 members, including many nurses from the hospital, have raised £100 in coins over the past nine months.
Leader Pauline Howard, who works at Airedale, said many members had children who had been cared for by the unit.
