Plans to demolish a house in Addingham and build seven three-storey homes are being opposed by village councillors as well as residents.
Addingham Parish Council is asking Bradford Council planners to reject the plan for the plot at 1 Moor Lane after 21 objectors turned up at a recent council meeting.
The concerns of nearby residents ranged from additional traffic and the houses being out of character, to fears about neighbours’ living rooms being overlooked. There is also concern about possible flood risks created by the culverting of a nearby stream.
Councillors said the scale of the proposed houses would appear out of character and the scheme would be an over-development of the plot.
About 30 Addingham residents have written about the scheme to Bradford Council, which is expected to determine the proposals.
