JUDY WOODS: The annual wild flower walk, arranged by the Friends of Judy Woods, is being held on Wednesday led by Alice Gingell and will be leaving the entrance to the woods in Station Road, off Huddersfield Road, at 7pm. The walk is open to all wishing to know more about the flora in the woods.

MORAVIAN: Tonight the Adventurers’ Youth Group meets at 7pm. The Spring Festival comes to a close on Saturday with dinner and entertainment by the Wayfarers at 7pm. BOWLING: On Saturday the Wyke Bowling Club first team entertain Pudsey Club in the Recreation Ground at 2pm and the second team will travel to Clayton. The Veterans have games on Thursday with the first team at home to Guiseley at 1.30pm and the second team away at Asa Briggs.

WYKE CHRISTIAN COUNCIL: A sponsored walk on the Spen Greenway is being held on Bank Holiday Monday, May 27, from the entrance to the path off Wyke Lane at 10am to Heckmondwike and back, a total of six miles. A fish and chip lunch can be obtained at the half-way point. The proceeds are for the St George’s Crypt, Leeds, the charity supported by the council this year.

ST MARY’S: Holy Communion is being celebrated on Sunday at 9am by the Reverends Adrian Cragg and Margaret Lyons. Liquid Worship is at 10.30am. An outdoor service is being held in the Bradford City Park on Sunday at 3pm.

NEW HORIZONS: Sequence dances are held on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month in the Methodist Church Hall from 1.30pm to 4pm. New members are welcome. Also on the second and fourth Thursday of the month the Needlecrafts Knit and Natter Group meets in the Christian Fellowship Church at 2pm.

CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP: Tonight the youth groups meet in the Wyke Centre from 6.15pm. The service of Praise and Worship on Sunday at 10.30am will be conducted by Stan Burston and the service at 6.30pm is with John Prodger. Toddler Church meets on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 9.45am. The weekly coffee morning is on Thursday from 10am.

TOWNSWOMEN’S GUILD: At the next monthly meeting of the guild on Tuesday at 2.15pm in the Methodist Church Hall, Canon Donald Brown will talk on ‘A bit more of Yorkshire History’.

WESTFIELD UR CHURCH: The Male Voice Choir continues to rehearse on Tuesdays in the church hall from 2pm. New members would be welcome. The Sunday 10.30am service will be conducted by Chris Robinson.

METHODIST CHURCH: Geoff Forder will be leading the Sunday service at 10.30am. The line-dancing class meets at 8pm.

RUGBY: Rescheduled from last week, the final game of the season for the Wyke ARLFC is on Saturday against Illingworth in the Recreation Ground at 2.30pm.
