Staff at an inner-city farm are celebrating a new arrival.
This baby hare is the newest inhabitant at Prism City Farm in Walker Drive, Girlington.
The tiny leveret is being made a great fuss of and is not to be confused with baby rabbits – known as kittens.
Leverets have the upper-hand over newborn rabbits who are born completely helpless, with no fur and blind, whereas lucky leverets are born fully-furred, able to see and can move by themselves. Young hares can live on their own just one hour after being born, leaving their mothers free to leave them on the bare ground and hop away soon after.
But this little leveret is in no danger of being ignored with plenty of cuddles and attention guaranteed.
