Businessman Emon Choudhary is heading for great heights to help orphans in Africa and Asia.
The 24-year-old, of Frizinghall, flies out to Kathmandu this month to join 11 other climbers to conquer Everest.
He will be leaving his car accessories business behind for two to three weeks to go on the challenge in aid of the Islamic Relief Foundation.
Emon has been in training for the past nine months and has climbed Snowdon, Ben Nevis and Mont Blanc.
He has also been going to a clinic in Birmingham to undergo special acclimatisation training.
He said: “I’m not scared at all, just excited. I think the flight in a small propeller plane from Nepal to Kathmandu over the Hima-layas will be more frightening!”
So far Emon has raised £4,500 for the Islamic Relief Foundation but wants to top the £5,000 mark. To make a donation visit justgiving.com/emonchoudhary.
