These children highlighted a plea to save their school when they dressed in slogan-emblazoned T-shirts for sports day.
Parents are leading a campaign opposing a proposal by Kirklees Council to shut East Bierley First School.
As part of its three-tier to two-tier reorganisation of education in North Kirklees, East Bierley and Birkenshaw first schools could both be expanded to create all-through primary schools.
Alternatively East Bierley will close and either Birkenshaw becomes an all-through primary school alongside a new primary building on the Birkenshaw Middle School site or Birkenshaw becomes a one-class entry primary and Birkenshaw Middle, a two-class entry primary.
A four-week consultation period ends on Friday and the outcome will be reported to the Council’s Cabinet on September 8.
Darran Webb, whose daughter Darcy attends East Bierley, said: “The overwhelming majority of parents and villagers want the school to stay open.
“No one wants to see a good school close.”
He said proposals involving the Birkenshaw Middle School site were confusing because a separate set of proposals are still being considered that could mean a high school is built there.
