Residents have been urged to keep raising concerns with police after 58 cannabis plants were seized from a Denholme address.

Officers executed a search warrant at the house on Monday and found the cannabis and equipment. They dismantled the equipment and will destroy the plants.

A 27-year-old local man was arrested in connection with the discovery of the plants and has been bailed pending further enquiries.

Inspector Andy Croasdale said: “We have been made aware of concerns from within the community about drugs issues in Denholme and I hope this latest operation reassures people we are listening to locals and acting upon their concerns.

“I would continue to urge residents to get in touch if they have information and I can promise we will always look into it and act where we can.”
