A sex offender who served a jail term for possessing indecent photographs breached a prevention order by being in possession of computer memory sticks, magistrates were told today.

Derek Duffy had the two sticks on a keyring when he was being interviewed by his probation officer on January 22 in Keighley.

The 44-year-old, of New Road, Denholme, pleaded guilty at court in Bingley to breaking the sex-offender order.

He was on licence at the time of the offence and was immediately recalled to prison from where he appeared in court today.

Duffy received an 18-month prison sentence in July 2007 and had been the subject of a Sex Offencers Prevention Order.

Mark Steeples, prosecuting, said the memory sticks were discovered on the keyring. Duffy claimed they were on the keyring of the car which he had borrowed from his son.

The bench was told that it was a genuine mistake and he was unaware the sticks were there until he dropped the keyring.

Duffy was remanded in custody until March 9 for pre-sentence reports to be compiled.
