Star swimmer Jamie Brown's dedication to his sport and to getting children interested in the London 2012 Games has led to him being chosen to carry the Olympic torch through Bradford.
Jamie, 18, of Allerton, has been an avid swimmer since the age of four and has been a member of the City of Bradford Swimming Club for four years.
He has represented Bradford at a regional level and recently took part in an international competition in Malta in which he achieved two third places.
In addition, he was chosen to be an Olympics ambassador two years ago, going round primary schools to raise interest in the Games and encourage pupils to become more active.
Jamie was nominated to be a torchbearer by his parents Paul and Liz Brown.
Jamie said: "It is unbelievable that I'm going to be a torchbearer and I just can't wait."
