A former teacher who trained in Bingley and taught in Shipley and Keighley has died at the age of 78 following a short illness.
Brenda Dale, who used to be deputy head of Oakbank School, Keighley, died at Herncliffe Nursing Home on New Year’s Day.
Her nephew, Andrew Dale, said: “She was very independent and strong minded”.
She took early retirement in 1984 after completing 30 years in teaching.
She was a lover of hockey and golf and was a director of her family’s engineering business – Charles Dale and Company.
Her funeral service and cremation will take place on Monday, January 9 at Skipton Crematorium at 10.20am.
