THE sun shone for the hundreds who came together to enjoy this year's Baildon's annual carnival this afternoon.
Held in the fields next to Baildon Rugby Club, the event saw music and dancing from various different groups, including many of the town's young people, a fun fair, games like a tug of war, and a tea and cake stall run by the Baildon Belles.
There were also stalls where people could get more information on local groups, including the Friends of Bracken Hall and Baildon Town Council, as well as first aid advice from Yorkshire Ambulance Service.
Peter Ashton, a member of the carnival committee, said: "The weather has really helped today, the numbers here are up from last year. and there are more stall holders too. There has been a lot more variety overall and there has been a really good atmosphere.
"Thanks to the rugby club for hosting it again. We do the planning, but we need everyone to come together to make it a success."
Baildon Travel were the event's main sponsors.
Any profits from the event will be shared around local groups, which are decided at the committee's AGM in September. To nominate a group, contact the organisers by visiting baildoncarnival.co.uk
