DAMAGE to Haworth Railway Station and fly-tipping along part of the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway (K&WVR) line were reported to a public transport meeting.

Michael Tarran, one of the directors of the K&WVR, was speaking at the latest meeting of Keighley Public Transport Watch.

He said: "We are still having problems on Friday and Saturday evenings. On the evening of February 25 we had some windows put in at Haworth Station.

"This was due to some local lowlife there who think it's a football pitch instead of a railway station forecourt."

Mr Tarran said fly-tipped rubbish was being dumped on the railway's property off Leylands Lane, in the Parkwood area of Keighley. He said this material included large quantities of scrap metal.

"It has got worse recently and has caused quite a mess," he added. "It is annoying when we've done so much work ourselves to clean up the railway."
