AN elderly man was taken to hospital this morning after being hit by a car in Saltaire.
At 9.30am Yorkshire Ambulance Service were called to Hirst Lane, behind The Hop, after reports of a pedestrian being knocked down.
A rapid response vehicle and ambulance were sent, and found a 74 year old had been struck by a grey Toyota Auris.
He remained conscious, and has been taken to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment.
Police were called to the scene and cordoned off the road. They are currently awaiting an update on the man's condition.
