AN empty furniture store in the centre of Shipley can be converted into a restaurant after Bradford Council gave planning permission for a change of use.
Mohammed Abbas had applied for permission to refurbish the former Cielo Furniture store (pictured), part of a row of businesses on Commercial Street, near Shipley Railway Station, and create a new restaurant in the unit.
The plans have now been approved by Bradford Council.
Planning officers said a restaurant was a "use appropriate to the town centre and which will support other town centre uses."
