A SNEAK thief has stolen a charity box in aid of Manorlands hospice from the counter of a well-known Bingley cycle shop.
Joe Jennings, who has run Keith Lambert Cycles on Main Street for 36 years, said he was sickened that anyone could steal from such a deserving cause.
"I just had a small cardboard box with Manorlands written on it in pen which sat beside the till and somebody must have been in the shop, spotted it and decided to pinch it," Mr Jennings said.
"It really angers me, not because of the money, which would only have been about £30, but because of the principle of it.
"Manorlands looked after both my parents and so I had the little box for whenever people ask me to job for nothing, straighten handlebars or something, then I'd ask them to pop in a donation.
"Then every once in a while I send the money off to the hospice.
"The police have been to see me, but there's very little that can be done other than let businesses know that someone's out there and prepared to do something so rotten," Mr Jennings said.
Anyone who has information about the theft, which Mr Jennings noticed on Friday, can call police on 101.
