Staff at Bradford District Care Trust were given top marks in an accreditation scheme during National Breastfeeding Week.

The community health care provider has been awarded a stage two accreditation from the UNICEF UK Baby Friendly Initiative, in recognition of staff being trained and having the right knowledge and skills to support pregnant women, mothers and babies with breastfeeding.

After a two-day review of the trust’s health visitors and nursery nurses, Baby Friendly assessors gave the trust 100 per cent scores for the majority of the criteria, with the remainder all being above the pass level.

Sherri Hector, breastfeeding champion at the trust, said: “We are extremely pleased with the feedback.”
