A MAN is in hospital with serious injuries after suffering a suspected medical episode at the wheel.
It happened at around 2am when a Ford Transit van travelling towards Birkenshaw struck a telegraph pole.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "The 35-year-old driver is believed to have suffered a medical episode at the wheel and was transported to Leeds General Infirmary with serious injuries.
"A passenger in the vehicle received minor injuries.
"Anyone who saw the lead up to the collision is asked to contact the police using the non emergency number 101."
