SIR - While there is no answer forthcoming as to those questioning when the Bradford Interchange will re-open, the greater question is why did a block of concrete fall into the car park below, after just over eight and a half million pounds, was spent on what was described as “significant wholesale repairs” to the concrete deck, to waterproofing and drainage, and to the buses’ carriageway?

Over £8.5 million, we were told, “will remove the need for ad-hoc repairs over the warranty period of the design, which will provide a significant cost saving to the Combined Authority.

Completing these works will also allow the Interchange to remain open for customers in the future.”

What went wrong? Can the elected mayor give an answer?
