IT’S BEGINNING to look a lot like Christmas…
I’ve never liked wreaths on doors. When I was a child they were rarely seen and when they were it was usually a sign of a family in mourning. Now, as well as being all over the place during the festive season, they are creeping in as Easter decorations too.
Easter wreaths, adorned with eggs and spring flowers, are selling like hot cross buns, report retailers. As if that wasn’t enough, we’ve now got Easter trees - small twiggy-like displays upon which you hang colourful eggs.
So, to sum up, Easter is well on its way to becoming the commercial extravaganza, or should I say eggstravaganza, that Christmas has sadly become.
