A MEDICAL centre has won an award from Bradford District Clinical Commissioning Group.

Grange Medical Centre in Horton Grange Road set up a patient participation group to help improve the relationship between its doctors and staff and the public it serves.

A spokesman for the CCG said: “Patient groups have a poor reputation in the city.

"We constantly hear that they don’t work.

“The truth is, as we have seen with many practices following the Patient Engagement Leads scheme – is that they do work.

“With the commitment from the practice, we have seen some great examples of patient engagement in the past year.

“This year, one group has stood out for its approach to self-care initiatives, events in the community, involving and reaching people and building a solid patient group.

“The patient participation members at Grange Medical Practice are described as very helpful, enthusiastic and very supportive.

“They are an asset to the practice and an example of how good engagement can build a stronger practice.”
