BRADFORD Teaching Hospitals is offering people the chance to help shape the future of health care by becoming governors when ten seats become available at the end of March.

Five public governors, two patient governors and three staff governors are being sought, who will sit on the Foundation Trust's Council of Governors.

The council is made up of four elected staff members, three appointed governors from partner organisations and 12 elected members from the public and patient constituencies, and meets formally five times a year.

Bradford Teaching Hospitals Trust chairman Professor Lord Patel of Bradford (pictured) said: "Governors play a vital role in representing the views of local people, patients and staff when important decisions are made about our hospitals.

"You will work with our Board of Directors to understand what our staff, patients and the public think about our services and our direction of travel."
