BRADFORD District Care NHS Foundation Trust has been shortlisted for two top national awards championing best practice.

The community health, mental health and specialist learning disabilities provider is a finalist in the prestigious Provider Trust of the Year and Board Leadership categories of the Health Service Journal (HSJ) Awards, chosen from 1,600 entries made by 600 organisations.

Chairman Michael Smith said: “We’re committed to personal, safe and effective care for the whole community. We’re extremely pleased to have made the shortlist - it’s the dedication and commitment of all our staff and volunteers that has seen us get to this point. I hope we can bring one, or all of these awards back to Bradford, it would be further testament to the high quality care we strive for across the district.”

This latest recognition follows an already successful year for the Trust, achieving Foundation Trust status earlier this year and being named as one of top 120 places to work in healthcare.

The Trust now has to make presentations to a judging panel made up of senior influential figures from the healthcare sector before the winners are revealed in November.
