CHILDREN'S mental health is the health issue parents in Yorkshire worry about the most, a survey has found.

A total of 36 per cent of parents in the region were most concerned with the emotional wellbeing and mental health of their children.

The second and third highest worries were diet and weight, a concern for 33 per cent, and suffering from serious illnesses, feared by 26 per cent.

The poll of 2,000 UK parents found mothers were particularly likely to worry about their children’s mental and emotional wellbeing, with 47 per cent saying it was a concern, compared to a third of fathers.

The research was carried out for charity Action for Children.
