This category celebrates the achievements of those who are new into the profession, for example a newly-qualified teacher.

Entrants should have been in either primary or secondary education for no longer than two years.

We want to know who are the stellar new teachers who are setting the classroom alight with their enthusiasm, ambition and new ways of working.

Every school needs an infusion of new blood to keep both the classes and existing staff fresh, and this category is to honour those who are relatively new to the job.

Those eligible to be nominated for this category are more than likely going to be younger teachers who have only recently come out of college and training - but not exclusively.

There may also be people who have had a career change later in life and are bringing not only a new perspective to the job, but years of life experience, too - we want to hear about them as well.

Those who are nominated for Newcomer of the Year are going to be the education leaders of tomorrow, and we want to honour them for their burgeoning achievements today.

Which new teachers are blazing a trail in the classroom?
