THIS year’s Bradford Dragonboat Festival has been officially unveiled by the Lord Mayor of Bradford in City Park.
The Lord Mayor, Councillor Geoff Reid, was joined by last year’s winning team and members of teams already signed up for this year.
They were joined by full-size dragonboats, which were on display in the Mirror Pool.
This year, the festival will take place over three days from Friday, May 5, to Sunday 7. On the Friday the competition will be open to children aged 11 to 17 - or 25 for people with disabilities - followed by the main event on Saturday, and on Sunday will be a corporate event.
Last year the festival raised more than £43,000 for the Lord Mayor’s Appeal.
The Lord Mayor said: “The Bradford Dragonboat Festival is a fantastic event.
“It is delivered by volunteers and is a whole community festival, planned, designed and delivered by the community, for the community, and raising funds for the community.”
