More than half the ground floor office space in part of Bradford’s newest business park will be used by an organisation that provides care for children and young people with disabilities.

Special Needs Objective Outreach Project (SNOOP) has signed up to become the latest tenant at the £4 million Inspire Bradford development in Eccleshill.

The charity, which offers care for children and young people aged between two and 25 with disabilities and complex health needs, is set to move from its current base in the Holybrook Centre, Greengates, in order to expand and care for more people.

SNOOP has signed up to take 50 per cent of the ground floor office space in one of the buildings at the new business park, which is due for completion next month and will include will include Europe’s largest straw bale building.

Established in 2000, the charity is run by Carol Beardmore and Carol Amery, who each have more than 17 years’ experience of working in specialist childcare.

They decided to move to Inspire Bradford Business Park to achieve their expansion plans and create the capacity to cater for more individuals with specialist care needs.

Carol Beardmore said: “We’ve been in our current location for the last 11 years, but wanted to move to a bigger site in order to expand and provide care for more people. SNOOP is also currently split across two sites, a local community centre and a Portakabin, so moving to Inspire is a dream come true for us, as it will allow us to have all our services and staff under one roof.

“SNOOP is an important part of the local community as it is the only organisation in the district that provides care for such a wide spectrum of individuals, so to have our services based at such a community-based location, with such useful facilities and great environmental credentials, is fantastic.”

Tony Holdich, chief executive of Newlands Community Association, which will run Inspire, said: “We’re delighted that SNOOP has chosen Inspire as the location of its new headquarters, and we’re really looking forward to welcoming Carol and her team to the business park once it’s complete.

“SNOOP provides a number of services that are vital to the local community and it’s great that the charity will be able to enhance its offering once it’s moved to the business park.”

Now in the final stages of construction, the new business park’s two buildings will total 2,787 sq m and will house 14 serviced offices and 14 managed workspaces. There will also be a cafe, high-speed broadband, virtual reception and secretarial services. Four meeting rooms will be available for hire by the hour or by the day.
