Youngsters across Bradford have been urged to consider a career in construction by the industry’s training body, as the sector showed signs of growth last month, according to a respected survey.
CITB-ConstructionSkills said local young people who are thinking about their future education and careers should consider the variety of opportunities which the construction sector can offer.
Steve Housden, regional sector strategy manager, said: “The construction industry can provide young people with an extremely rewarding and challenging career.
“As well as traditional trades and careers in areas like architecture and surveying, there are lots of other exciting courses in emerging and specialist areas such as construction management and sustainable development.
“I’d encourage youngsters to find out more about the industry and what it could offer them.”
A one-stop shop for information and advice is available online at bconstructive.co.uk, part of a drive by CITB-ConstructionSkills to promote the industry and build a pipeline of new talent.
