Entrepreneurs in West Yorkshire are bucking the national trend by stepping up their exporting efforts as new figures revealed a record trade gap with imports rising twice as fast as exports.
Enquiries from new exporters for help from trade specialists at Chamber International are rising and the level of export documentation it handles – a barometer of orders — is holding up.
Officials from the Bradford-based organisation are set to visit 200 firms providing advice and help with exporting activities. Around 30 per cent of the firms will be new exporters.
