A firm that provides online child protection training courses has donated £20,000 to charities working with children and young people across the country.

The Safeguarding Children e-Academy, based in Ilkley, annually donates a percentage of its revenues to worthy causes.

This year 16 charities were nominated by academy member organisations and each received £2,000.

The academy is one of the UK’s leading providers of online child protection training courses, with 55 members across the UK, mainly Local Safeguarding Children Boards.

Abby Dacres, the e-Academy manager, said: “We have made donations to small child-related charities up and down the country.

“It’s a real privilege to be able to see the money we give make a difference to children and their families, and we hope to continue this support into the future.”
