Cufflinks, bracelets and rings made from Lego have helped to build up a new art business in Silsden.

Paula Baker-Parkin, owner of the Projeto Gallery, has been taken aback by the popularity of the quirky jewellery fashioned from the famous toy bricks.

The main focus of the gallery is photographic work from countries including China, Venezuela, India, Japan, Italy, Germany and Britain.

She said: “I’ve only been open five weeks and have had to order more of the Lego jewellery, it’s been so popular for Christmas.

“It’s also proved a brilliant icebreaker, bringing people into the gallery to look at the photography.”

The Lego pieces have been made by Shipley designer Kitchensink and, like the photography, can only be bought at the Silsden gallery or at projectogallery.com.
