COLLABORATION between two local companies has led to them sharing a top innovation award.

Shipley-based children’s furniture supplier Scandinavian House was recognised along with Horsforth-based logistics company Proximity whose STREAM order, delivery and transport management system it has adopted to improve efficiency.

The companies scooped the innovation technology prize in the SHD logistics awards. Proximity managing director Dave Pickburn and Scandinavian House directors, Anne and Dan Ridgway collected the award at a ceremony in London, (pictured).

Mr Pickburn said: “We are delighted to have won this award. STREAM has been developed by Proximity over the past three years to meet the needs of businesses with complex supply chain requirements. ”

Anne Ridgway said: “STREAM has become an integral part of our business, enabling us to expand significantly and operate more efficiently. It has given us the ability to be in complete control of customer orders and ultimately provide a much better customer service.”candinavian House has been supplying children’s bedroom and furniture products end for more than ten years and has developed close relationships with independent stores, multiples chains , online retailers and mail order businesses. Its products are manufactured in Europe, imported and then delivered to consumers throughout the UK from its Shipley base.
