Jane Vincent, Co-founder of Positive Bradford writes:

I have an exciting week ahead of me.

The Lion King at the Alhambra on Wednesday, the 20th Bradford International Film Festival on Thursday at the National Media Museum and The Inspirational Women Awards on Saturday at the Hilton Bradford.

Then Mummy’s day on Sunday.

Judging took place last week for the Inspirational Women’s Awards with some key influential judges from various sectors, MPs, chief executives and HR directors. The nominations came in droves and the judges had some very difficult decisions to make.

I say this a lot, but Bradford to me is like a town rather than a city. It is unique in its own way. I also love the fact that lots of people do things for free to help raise the profile of the city. Groups have been formed by people who want to see Bradford Shine, Bradford Breakthrough, Bradford Matters, Positive Bradford to name a few.

I truly wish both groups well who have pulled together bids to transform the Odeon into an exciting new project, which can only benefit Bradford.

What is wonderful to see is they are both key players in Bradford who are passionate about the city and seeing the Odeon restored to its former glory. Being a girl who partied in the 1980s I was really delighted to hear that Bingley Music Live this year has some amazing names performing and top of the list The Pet Shop Boys!

OMG!
