A Manchester-based architect has submitted a planning application for the development of two new units at the Baildon Business Park.

The application, by AEW Architects, comes just a month after the site’s first unit was approved by planners at Bradford Council.

Block 9 is a 15,000 sq ft unit for medical equipment manufacturer and distributor Portsmouth Surgical Group Holdings, while the neighbouring block 8 is being built speculatively with a number of potential occupiers in negotiation for the space.

Construction of a 28,000 sq ft production facility for precision engineering firm Produmax is set to start next month.

Mark Taylforth from Pendle Russells, the joint venture developing the site, said: “We’re on track with the second application going in this week following the agreement with Portsmouth Surgical Holdings, and a further two applications on the drawing board. With construction set to begin on the Produmax facility, we’ll soon see this exciting new business location really start to take shape.”

Portsmouth Surgical Group Holdings is set to relocate its Anetic Aid high tech maintenance, sales and distribution teams from a site in Guiseley to the new 15,000 sq ft facility in order to allow the team and range to grow.
