Major plans for a new supermarket and industrial park in Skipton should be discussed at next month’s meeting of Craven District Council’s planning committee.

The Wyvern Park scheme, including a Sainsbury’s superstore, hotel and restaurant, on land between Waltonwrays Cemetery and Sandylands Sports Centre, was expected to go before last week’s meeting.

But a delay in responses from consultees meant the application was delayed – probably until the April planning meeting.

The scheme is also likely to be heard at a regular, afternoon meeting of the council, instead of being moved to an evening slot.

Planning committee members were told last week an extension of the 13 weeks allowed to the council following the submission of the hybrid application had been agreed by the developer, Henry Boot, but that every effort was being made to ensure it was ready in time for the next meeting.
