A health and wellbeing expert has launched an online business to make it easier for vegetarians and vegans source food to suit their lifestyle.

Jane Marshall, former head of the healthy college project at Bradford College, believes her Planet V site is the first of its kind and the new venture has been welcomed by leading vegetarians, including former Queen guitarist Brian May.

Jane has launched Planet V to offer healthy lifestyle choices, ethically-sourced and produced goods and a community for those interested in the vegetarian and vegan lifestyle.

The new venture sells healthcare, food, accessories and beauty products. It also offers smaller vegetarian and vegan providers with an opportunity to promote products.

The site includes a directory of companies serving vegetarians and vegans. Jane got the idea for Planet V in her previous role as the healthy college manager at Bradford College, where she implemented a health and wellbeing plan, which was integrated into a Government programme and rolled out nationally. She launched her business after two-years of planning.

Jane said: “Vegetarian and vegan are simply terms to describe a lifestyle choice. Planet V is focused on supporting the growing number of individuals who are becoming concerned with ethical and environmental purchasing and healthy living – this has only increased with the recent food scares.”

Meanwhile, Bradford online health supplements company Pink Sun has outsourced stock control and delivery to enable the company's owners to focus on its growth strategy.

Pink Sun, at Clayton Heights, has appointed Dearne Valley mailing and ‘fulfilment specialist’ Cambertown to help it meet increasing orders, leaving husband and wife team Mike and Deidre Lane to concentrate on areas such as marketing and product sourcing.

Mr Lane said: “All the orders, sales and deliveries are now automated and managed at Cambertown’s end so we’re now able to really concentrate on the things we enjoy about running our business.

“We launch our new website soon and that’s something we simply wouldn’t have had time to sort out without Cambertown’s support. The tender process enabled us to really hone down what we were looking for and gave us confidence in the service we would get. Cambertown offered everything we needed and appointing them has allowed us to outsource everything other than product sourcing and marketing and sales.”
