A firm headed by investor and former Dragon’s Den star James Caan has completed a deal to sell Bradford University’s £40m student village to a Middle Eastern investor for an undisclosed sum.
The Green, which has one of the highest BREAM environmental ratings and includes townhouses and apartments with more than 1,000 bedrooms, has been acquired with advice from 90 North Real Estate Partners, a London-based investment firm chaired by Mr Caan.
The unnamed buyer was represented by Dubai-based Arzan Wealth and bought the development from the consortium which developed the campus in 2011, including Welbeck Land Limited and Hayaat Group.
It is the second student housing acquisition advised by 90 North and makes it one of the UK’s top 20 student housing managers.
Nicholas Judd, founder partner of 90 North said: “The Green being brand new, is one of the best student housing campuses in the UK. In an increasingly competitive educational environment, the university can offer its students award-winning accommodation at a reasonable cost.”
