A by-election in Wharfedale will take place on Thursday, November 15, it has been confirmed.
It follows the resignation of Conservative councillor Matt Palmer last week, who represented the ward on Bradford Council from 2003. Mr Palmer has stepped down as he is moving to Jersey.
The by-election has been called to coincide with the police and crime commissioner elections, which are already being held on November 15. This should ensure costs are kept down as the last by-election, held in Great Horton in November, cost the Council £14,000.
The notice of election is expected to be published tomorrow.
