FESTIVAL: The New Inn pub in Wilsden will b e holding a beer festival from today until Sunday and will feature music.

BREW: The Big Brew will be held tomorrow from 10am to 3pm in Wilsden Methodist and United Reformed Church (Chapel Row). Tea, coffee, home-made biscuits, soup, books and cake stall. An ideal opportunity to support the work of SSAEA (Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen Families Association). On Sunday’s the 10.30am service will be conducted by Robert Morton of Bradford. A baptism service will be held in the afternoon.

BAND: Wilsden Band will give an autumn concert for Friends of the Band. The date for this will be Saturday, November 17, in Wilsden Village Hall and tickets for this will be available from mid October and obtainable from Derek Dyson (01535) 272216.

WALKERS: Wilsden Walkers wish to thank everyone for their support for their recently held Big Coffee Morning in aid of MacMillan Nurses when £224 was raised. They invite anyone to join them for their weekly walks as they meet each Monday, 9.15am at Wilsden Village Hall when there is a choice of walks depending on the individual. CHURCH: Wilsden St Matthew's have a 9.30am service of Holy Communion on Sunday next, October 7, when Reverend Bob Evans acts as leader, preacher and presider and fulfils the same roles for the 11.15am service of Holy Communion at Harden St Saviours Church· CAMERA: Bingley Camera Club will be participating in an interclub event at Normanton Camera Club on Saturday, October · They meet at 7.30pm on Monday in the Church House, Old Main Street, when the topic is How To Be A Judge will look at how competitions work.

CLINIC: There was a steady flow of patients for the flu jab clinics held recently at Wilsden and Cullingworth surgeries. A coffee event raised £300 for Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Further flu clinics to be held on Tuesday, October 16, at Cullingworth 4pm to 6pm and Wilsden, Thursday, October 25, 4pm to 6pm.

CLUB: The Luncheon Club is held each Tuesday in Wilsden Village Hall and very well attended. At present they have a short waiting list. Full details are available from Val Smith on (01535) 275316. People who attend also take their books to exchange at the volunteer library each Tuesday from 9.30am to 7pm. Tuesday is also the day when sequence dancing takes place between 2.15pm to 4.15pm.
