A woman had her bag snatched as she walked through the grounds of a church in Shipley.
Police have appealed for witnesses to the robbery, which occurred on a footpath at the rear of St Paul’s Church on Monday.
The 51-year-old was walking with her supermarket shopping from Alexandra Road between 6.35pm and 7pm.
She was approached from behind by a woman who snatched her handbag before running off towards Kirkgate.
The thief is described as white, about 20-years-old, of slim build and about 5ft 6ins tall with brown hair in a ponytail. She was wearing dark jeans and a waist- length jacket.
The bag was recovered close by, but the purse had been removed. Anyone with information is asked to contact Airedale and North Bradford CID on the non-emergency number 101.
