HMS Diamond (1963-64): A Mr Moffat has come into the possession of the commissioning book of this destroyer from the early 1960s and would like to pass it on to any member of the ship's company.

The captain was J D Cartwright DSO. The book is in good condition. Inside was a picture of a group of ratings and one Royal Marine from before 1920.

  • Commemorative Postage Stamps: To mark the 150 anniversary of the award of the first Victoria Cross, Royal Mail are issuing a set of six stamps with the deeds of the winners remembered. Two each from the RN. Army and RAF are to be honoured. A statement from the Post Office says that they wanted to concentrate on bravery and not war, so the focus is on the individuals. An accompanying booklet, written by Bernard Cornwell (the Sharpe author) tells the history of the Victoria Cross.
