A Brighouse couple had to be rescued by firefighters after getting trapped in their bedroom at about 6.30am yesterday.
The inside bedroom door handle broke off, leaving the couple, in their 30s, unable to get out and get to their two-year-old child in the next room.
They fought to free themselves for an hour before ringing the fire service.
Firefighters from Brighouse station climbed through the bedroom window of the house in Crown Street to force open the door and let the couple out.
The family was unharmed.
