The firefighting stars of a red hot charity calendar brought some heat to a community day at Bradford Bulls' Odsal Stadium yesterday.

Some of the crews, who were pictured 'at work' around West Yorkshire, posed for photographs as they sold copies of the calendar during an open day for staff, clients and carers at St Anne’s Community Service.

Jamie Rowntree, of Idle fire station, features in January, while Odsal firefighters Matt Broadbent and Spencer Priestley feature in June. Paul Imperial, of Stanningley fire station, features in August, and Andy Ball, of Illingworth and Mytholmroyd fire stations, features in October.

Dom Furby, who came up with the Red Hot Dates concept while on Bradford Fire Station’s Red Watch, said: “If these guys can’t brighten up drizzly September day, nothing will!”

The calendar costs £5 with proceeds going to The Fire Fighters Charity, Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Laila Milly Foundation.
